Sazerac
Sazerac is one of the oldest known cocktails, with its origins in pre-Civil War New Orleans, Louisiana.Ingredients
- 2 oz (6 cl) brandy or rye whiskey
- 0.25 oz (0.75 cl) simple syrup
- 2 dashes of Peychaud’s bitters
- 1 tsp (0.5 cl) absinthe
- Lemon peel
- Coat the inside of the glass with a film of absinthe.
- Stir the rest of the ingredients together in a mixing glass with ice.
- Strain into the absinthe coated glass.
- Garnish with lemon peel and serve.
