Metropole was the house cocktail at the Metropole Hotel, opened in New York at the end of the 19th century. It is a stronger and spicier version of the Metropolitan cocktail.Ingredients
- 1.5 oz (4.5 cl) cognac
- 1.5 oz (4.5 cl) vermouth
- Dash of orange bitters
- 2 dashes Peychaud’s bitters
- Maraschino cherry
- Stir the cognac, vermouth, and bitters well with cracked ice.
- Strain it into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
