Metropole

Metropole was the house cocktail at the Metropole Hotel, opened in New York at the end of the 19th century. It is a stronger and spicier version of the Metropolitan cocktail.


Ingredients

• 1.5 oz (4.5 cl) cognac
• 1.5 oz (4.5 cl) vermouth
• Dash of orange bitters
• 2 dashes Peychaud’s bitters

Garnishes

• Maraschino cherry

Glass

• Cocktail glass

Instructions

• Stir the cognac, vermouth, and bitters well with cracked ice.
• Strain it into a chilled cocktail glass.
• Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
