Manhattan is one of the finest and oldest cocktails. It is also the first cocktail that used vermouth as a modifier.

Ingredients

2 oz (6 cl) rye whiskey
0.5 oz (1.5 cl) sweet vermouth
2-3 dashes of bitters

Garnishes

Cocktail cherry

Glass

Cocktail glass

Instructions

Pour the ingedients into a mixing glass with ice cubes.
Stir well.
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with a cherry.
