The Aviation is an elegant gin-based cocktail invented in America in the 1930s.

Ingredients

2 oz (6 cl) gin or vodka
1 oz (3 cl) lemon juice
1 oz (3 cl) maraschino liqueur

Garnishes

Cocktail cherry

Glass

Cocktail glass

Instructions

Shake or stir gin (or vodka), lemon juice and maraschino liqueur with ice.
Strain into a cocktail glass.
Serve with a cherry.
